JWoww Regrets Jersey Shore Wardrobe

February 25, 2010

News has been coming out all week that JWoww isn’t happy with the clothing she wore during season one on the Jersey Shore. She hit up the Kim Kardashian show during New York’s fashion week last week and told reporters that her biggest fashion regret while filming was “everything on the show.”

She seems to be the only one concerned with that fact as there was a clamoring for JWoww-esque clothing shortly after she wore the infamous yellow top in episode two.

In case you don’t remember, it was the first night she hooked up with Pauly D when Sammi and the Situation had to work but the rest of the cast decided they were going to go out for the night. The drape neck top showed off a healthy portion of her “assets.”

She was even going to turn her Season one fashion into a side business, claiming that she was starting her own clothing line through her Web site www.jwoww.com. That was short lived, though, and links to her clothing disappeared a month ago.

No word on whether or not the clothing line is still in the works, or whether or not her fashion will actually change when season two starts filming in Miami in the coming months. But, JWoww did tell reporters at fashion week one accessory that she does plan on wearing for season two – earrings.

“Earrings!” she told them. “I have chubby ears, so I gotta wear my earrings.”

Jersey Shore Cast to Invade George Lopez Next Week

February 25, 2010

The entire Jersey Shore cast took a day out of their busy schedules of photo shoots with Bar Rafaeli, regretting season one wardrobe choices and giving Kim Kardashian Jersey Shore-esque nicknames to film a series of vignettes that will play on The George Lopez Show all next week.

The cast flew to LA for the day and headed to Lopez’s studio tired from their long flight and night out the night before. Snooki even tweeted that she was so tired her eyes were burning. But they toughed it out and gave it their all in front of a green screen.

Snooki and JWoww even managed to get a few shots of themselves in costume tweeted.

It looks as though the cast recreated a scene from the Oscar nominated Inglorious Basterds in which a group of Jewish-American soldiers, led by Brad Pitt, spread fear through the Third Reich by killing and scalping Nazi officers.

Snooki took on Pitt’s role of Lt. Aldo Rain, though her costuming is a bit more fitted than Pitt’s ever was. And the rest of the cast fell in as the “Basterds.”

It’ll be interesting to see just what they filmed yesterday, though it’s safe to say their costumes look great.

Tune into The George Lopez Show at 11 p.m. est on TBS all next week to see our favorite JS-ers.

Jersey Shore Season One DVD Safe From Victim’s Law Suit … For Now

February 24, 2010

On Monday we told you that Stephen Izzo, Jr., also known as the man Ronnie took down in “one shot!” in the second to last episode of season one on Jersey Shore, was seeking atemporary restraining order to bar the release of the first season on DVD.

Mr. Izzo and his attorney’s said that it was unfair that Ronnie was going to profit from his criminal behavior on the program and also sought to prevent him from receiving any more profits from the show.

However, a judge didn’t seem to see it that way and allowed MTV to go ahead with the roll out of the Uncensored DVD yesterday (buy it on Amazon.com here). He didn’t completely dismiss the case, though, and set a hearing for March 19, according to the New York Times.

At the March 19 hearing, the judge asked MTV and the production company who filmed Jersey Shore to come prepared with an arguement as to why he shouldn’t grant Mr. Izzo’s request.

Win for JS fans, but we’re crossing our fingers that MTV’s attorney’s work overtime to keep Season One available for public consumption!

Pauly D on air with Ryan Seacrest

February 24, 2010

Gotta love iTouch apps – we’re currently sitting at work in Cincinnati and listening to LA’s KISS 102.7 on iHeartRadio.

A bit of a live tweet if you will:

7:09 am (LA time) – Ryan: from what I hear, you guys are really, really kind

– Pauly D: on the show they only show us partying, but in real life we’re actually family oriented

7:10 – Ryan: yesterday you and the Situation met Kim Kardashian, she wants to know her JS nickname

– Pauly D: I’m infatuated with the girl. She seems very down to earth. We’re going to call her “The Infatuation” because we’re all infatuated with her.

– Ryan: That’s perfect. We have the Infatuation, The Situation and the Pulsation (Seacrest’s nickname for “always having his finger on the pulse.”)

Well, that was a quick hit and Pauly D hung up so I guess that’s all Ryan Seacrest is going to talk about that’s JS related today. But if you really want us to report on LA’s traffic that we’re hearing right now we can do that as well. We’re guessing you don’t really care though.

Yesterday, The Situation and Pauly D were on Seacrest’s show as well and the news officially came out that Season Two will film in Miami – which we reported late last month.

Italian American Group Wants to Take Legal Action against JS

February 22, 2010

Stephen Izzo, Jr. – the man Ronnie took down with “one shot” on the boardwalk in the penultimate episode of season one on Jersey Shore – isn’t the only person contemplating legal action against the show and MTV, now an Italian-American group is getting in on the action as well.

As we reported this morning, Mr. Izzo filed an injunction with a New Jersey court asking the judge to bar the release of the Jersey Shore Season One DVDs set to be released tomorrow and prevent Ronnie from collecting further payments as a result of his role on the show. Ronnie was charged with aggravated assault after the incident and Mr. Izzo doesn’t feel as though he should continue to be monetarily rewarded for his criminal behavior.

The possible legal action from UNICO – the National Italian-America Service Organization – is less specific. UNICO is fed up with the way Italian-Americans are portrayed on the Shore and Andre Dimino, UNICO’s president, said they have contacted attorneys to find out their possible courses of action.

“The use of words like ‘Guidos’ and ‘Guidettes’ is racial stereotyping in the worst possible sense and they are portraying young Italian Americans in the worst possible light,” Dimino told RadarOnline. “They would not try and get away with the same tactics if it was show full of young African American or Jewish kids, so why is it acceptable to portray Italian Americans in this way?”

Dimino claims that UNICO is standing up for the Italian-Americans who serve in the community and armed services who are “ashamed” of Jersey Shore.

The (old news) reports that broke last week that JWoww and Snooki aren’t 100% Italian (Snooki is also Chilean, and JWoww is also Irish and Spanish) aren’t pacifying Dimino who says it is too little too late and the damage against Italian-Americans has already been done.

He wouldn’t comment on the legal proceedings the group hopes to undertake as they are still in process of taking the first steps towards taking action against MTV.

Stay tuned to Hairpoof for more on UNICO’s case.

Legal Woes May Hamper Jersey Shore Season 1 DVD Release

February 22, 2010

Ronnie’s boardwalk antics may prove to have a lasting effect far larger than anyone could have ever imagined.

Jersey Shore‘s biggest fighter got himself into more than a few scrapes during season one. Whether he was trying to diffuse a man taunting him and Sammi as they walked home and then escalating to an all-out smack down with the man, pushing Sammi away prior to the fight, or protecting Snooki’s honor by taking a guy down in “one shot!” No one can deny that he seemed to be looking for something more physical than even Pauly D and the Situation were when they were creeping it on women at Karma.

Last week, TMZ broke the news that Ronnie’s first fight was fueled with his own homophobic taunts, and now his second fight is coming back to bite him big time.

In the penultimate season one JS episode the entire cast decided to go out for one final fist pump together and Snooki got all dressed up in what some onlookers described as a Halloween costume. The pink and black corset-type dress propped certain parts of her anatomy up, and left little to the imagination, which seemed to invite others to give her their opinion on how she dressed. A few groups of people even followed the cast as they walked home, which everyone tried to ignore – except for Ronnie. Ronnie doubled back behind the group and popped one of the guys following them, knocking him out cold.

MTV made no bones about broadcasting the man face down in the street as Ronnie taunted onlookers with “That’s One Shot! That’s One Shot Kid!”

Police responded to the incident and Ronnie spent the night in jail before being charged with aggravated assault.

Now, the victim, Stephen Izzo Jr., is saying that it’s not right that Ronnie gets to profit off of this criminal behavior and wants a judge to bar the release of Season One on DVD. He also is seeking to bar Ronnie from receiving further payments for his role on the show.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. One the one hand, the judge may throw the case out or examine how MTV handled showing Izzo laying face down on the ground and bar that scene from being included but giving the green light to the rest of the season. After all, Ronnie isn’t the only person on the DVDs. On the other hand, this could put a glitch in the MTV system as they try to market season one to keep demand for the JS-ers high while they head into filming season two.

Our money is on the former, however, as the DVD is being released tomorrow – you can grab your copy for only $16.76 here. According to Pauly D, he, The Situation and Snooki are adding commentary to it today (anyone else think that might be getting down to the wire a bit?).

We’ll keep you posted on what happens with Mr. Izzo’s case and Ronnie’s court appearances for aggravated assault (even though he claims the charges have been dropped, the state of New Jersey doesn’t think so).

On-again, Off-again, What are Ronnie and Sammi now?

February 18, 2010

Like any good drama that plays out under the general public’s watchful eye, there’s a bit of misinformation swirling around our favorite JS couple, Ronnie and Sammi. The question is, what part is true and what part is not so true.

Yesterday, we reported that RadarOnline said that Ronnie and Sammi were kaput and refused to be in the same room with each other due to an intense hatred of the other person.

Today, RadarOnline is changing its tune and saying that the two spent a cozy, romantic Valentine’s Day in the Poconos.

“They were so lovey dovey and were happy,” a person who saw them told RadarOnline.com.  “They were having a really fun time. Ronnie fell a couple of times and they were joking around about it and laughing and Sammi helped him up and they were kissing and really affectionate.”

It’s a far cry from storming on Reunion Show sets in tears and cancelling public appearances because the two aren’t speaking anymore.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out in the coming days. As of now, Sammi and Ronnie have been keeping mum on their relationship status, with Sammi telling Meredith Viera on the Today Show that the two are happy and she was going to leave it at that.

Pauly D Jumps on the Trademark Bandwagon

February 17, 2010

Monsters & Critics is reporting that Pauly D is joining the Situation and Snooki in applying for a trademark for his nickname. Unlike Snooki, who has designated that she wants to use her nickname for public appearances and print materials, and the Situation who wants to use his for a cologne (and his brother wants to use it to put on panties), Pauly D’s trademark is strictly pre-Jersey Shore business.

He wants to trademark the name DJ Pauly D to be used “in the nature of disc jockey services.”

With so many lucrative gigs in Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Vegas popping up, it makes sense for Pauly to get in on the trademarking action.

We’re not patent lawyers, so there’s no word yet on whether or not use of the trademark will cost MTV extra to use or if use has already been written into the contracts.

Snooki Starts Process to Trademark “Snooki”

February 17, 2010

The Situation isn’t the only Jersey Shore-er with business aspirations for his nickname. The Smoking Gun and Associated Content are reporting that Snooki has applied for trademark protection with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The application states that the trademark will allow her to use the name for “entertainment in the nature of personal appearances by a television personality” and for “printed materials, namely books.”

Are we going to see the Authorized Biography of Snooki sometime soon? It could be an interesting read about the trials and tribulations leading up to this point in her young life – including her childhood, her eating disorder, how she was cast on the show, the aftermath of the infamous punch, etc. Or will it be more of a tell-all Jersey Shore dirt book, a la Dustin Diamond’s Behind the Bell.

We’re kind of hoping for both!

Ronnie and Sammi’s Real Relationship

February 16, 2010

A public break-up on the reunion show, pictures of alleged cheating, canceling scheduled public “couple” appearances, a distant Sammi on the Today Show where Ronnie isn’t present. All signs are pointing to the fact that something big happened between our favorite Jersey Shore lovebugs, despite Snooki’s insistence that the two are still together and Sammi telling Meredith Viera that the two are happy.

RadarOnline is reporting that Sammi and Ronnie haven’t just broken up, but that they aren’t even speaking to each other anymore.

The two recently canceled appearances in Chicago and Toronto without providing an excuse, and a source tells Radar that the two can’t stand to be in the same room with each other.

The reunion show break-up came on the heels of never before seen footage of Sammi talking with the Situation about getting a guy’s number at Karma while Ronnie danced with another girl shortly after the two began hooking up. Sammi began to cry, while Mike claimed that there was nothing deeper to their conversation than two friends discussing a night out, but Ronnie claimed that Sammi had violated his trust and that he “cuts girls quicker than barbers do.”

While the two are said to hate each other, they’ll shortly be thrust together once again as cameras start rolling on season two, rumored to be shot in South Beach. Will the constant closeness rekindle a lost love or will the two be at each other’s throats the entire season? No matter what type of drama, we’ll be there to watch it all … but only if they promise we’ll get to see some more of Ronnie’s insane dance moves.
